After 5 years...

I know everyone is going to be shocked that I'm finally writing in my blog after a year, but I decided that getting engaged was blog worthy : ) So.... I'M ENGAGED! It all started almost exactly 5 years ago when he asked me to junior prom.

After that, it's all history! We have been best friends since and will be for a long long time : ) The engagement came as a huge surprise to me. We had gone ring shopping and he asked me if I wanted to go out to breakfast on the following Saturday and so I assumed that was when it was going to happen. Little did I know he had other ideas... My birthday was on Thursday and I had rehearsal all night so we didn't get to do much, but after my mom was on the phone with my dad (i found out later that no one was on the phone) and apparently he had left something up by the temple from taking pictures earlier. My mom acted a little frustrated and frazzled and said that we had to go look for it. We ran across temple square with our violins in the freezing cold. When we got to where he left it I saw someone sitting on a bench that looked a lot like Matt.... and it was. My mom took my violin and suddenly disappeared. Matt then pulled out a little white box and said he had something else to give me for my birthday. (earlier he had given me a picnic set which I was SO excited about) I opened the box and looked up and he was on his knee and he asked me. Of course I said.... YES! I have to say it was the greatest birthday EVER! After that, his family had cake and ice cream ready for me and my parents and I went over to celebrate. I am so excited to be apart of the Taylor family!

The date is July 10, 2010 and I can't wait! My sister is getting married on July 23 so it is going to be quite the eventful summer for my family. (not to mention one new niece and one new nephew!) I keep telling my mom .... be careful what you pray for! : )

I'd have to say I'm the luckiest girl on earth! Thanks Matt!

California Here We Come!

Some of my friends and I decided to take a road trip to California and stay there for a few days. Josh's parents lived there so it worked out perfect! Alex, Josh and I climbed into his truck and started our journey to California. I was going to try and help drive, but neither of the guys could fit in the middle seat. Alex ended up getting a ticket on the way there. He told me it was about time that he got one. What a great attitude! Josh wanted to see if he could make it to Las Vegas on one tank of gas. This is how we rolled into Vegas. We had two more friends meet us in California so there were 5 of us total!

On Sunday we went to look at the temple and walk around. It is beautiful!

Jac and I! I am so glad she came on this trip. We got along so well and instantly became really good friends! She is adorable.

On Monday we went to Six Flags. It was so much fun! Alex lost his phone on the first ride we went on. He wasn't having the best luck on our trip. First the ticket, now this? The next day we went to China Town and the Fashion District. So much shopping!

On Tuesday night after shopping all day, we went to the Dodger Game.

This is how we all felt by the end of the trip home... not really. It went surprisingly fast and we had a great time jamming to David Archuleta and almost everything else we could find on our ipods.

Alex and my sister Emily have had this ongoing joke about going on a date forever now, and it actually happened! It is only the second time we have been on a double together, and it was so much fun! I don't think I stopped laughing the whole time. Typical. We started the date with a picnic.

Next, we had an awesome game of croquet. Of course, Shawn and I dominated. Notice the awesome shorts we all have.

Next we had a contest with giant cookies. Bet you couldn't guess what we wanted to make... thats right, a palmtree!

Alex and Emily's was pretty awesome too! Nice fruit combinations! : )

My dad was the judge and he said it was a tie. But when mom got home, she said Shawn and I won. So clearly, we won for the second time that night!

Tribute to My Mom

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

I decided to try and be creative with the dessert I made. I got it from my CFA's blog. It didn't quite turn out how it was supposed to, but it sure was yummy!

Here is a video I made my mom for mother's day. I am so grateful for her and all she does. She is incredible and I couldn't ask for more. I'm glad I can be home for summer and spend time with her and the rest of the family!

And here is a video of my Junior year at BYU. So many good memories! I loved every minute and I am going to miss Park Place and all the awesome people there!

Microwave Fun

My dad, Emily and I were talking about microwaves one night and my dad told us about what happened when you put soap in the microwave. Why not try it? For any of you who are interested... this is what happens. Try it at home! Safe, and it makes your house smell of soap for days

The sound is doing weird things... so you don't need it turned on.

So I have come to the conclusion that I am a terrible blogger. I have so much to catch up on, which makes me want to blog less and less as time goes on. But, I decided it was time for me to at least try and start catching up. So here we go!

Summer has turned out to be absolutely amazing so far!! I love coming home from work and hanging out with friends and family. One night Alex, Shawn and I went bowling. I will have everyone notice that I am the top score. Yes, that is right. I WON! 127 is my all time high at bowling. I think I might go pro!

Cinco De Mayo may be one of my new favorite holidays. Jake, Kat, Tom and I celebrated by eating fajitas, smashing a pinata, and watching Zoro. I was sure to get my share of the candy.

Applebees is the place to be Mon-Thurs after 9pm. Half off appetizers! If all else fails, go to Applebees.

Not sure what Alex was planning to do with that knife...

A Night With the Stars

It's tradition to hike the Y at least once a year, so we decided that since the year was almost over, we had better go! We got a big group of friends and started up the mountain at about 9:30. We picked a perfect clear night and the view was beautiful! Only one more year to hike the Y... crazy!

Tumbling Gym = Heaven

Its a plane, its a bird... nope, its not. Just Audrey!

The tumbling gym may be one of my very favorite places on earth. Trampolines, foam pit, sumo suits, and all kinds of places to do tricks on not get hurt.

Tiff and I put on the suits and fought to the death. Its a great way to get your frustrations out... too bad we didn't have any : ) Needless to say... I WON!

I'm finally legal... whatever that means. My birthday was so great! I have the best family and friends. My day started off with going to my first grade class and they all wrote me cute birthday cards. They sang me happy birthday and I was positive the whole school could hear them. After school Stevie came over and surprised me with a cake!! It even had a palm tree on it!

Later we went to Luau that Mandy performed. When I got there she had a bunch of her friends sing happy birthday to me.

She did such a great job!

Alex surprised me with candy and a card. He knows what makes me happy! (he is very proud of the drawing on the front of his card)

After the Luau we went to ice cream at the Malt Shop and then we came back to the apartment and ate cake! It was a day packed with fun!! Thanks everyone!

The day before my birthday I got to go to the JAZZ GAME! Talk about a dream come true : ) And they won... what a great birthday present!

The month of March has been so so fun!! Instead of going to classes, I got to go and teach in a first grade classroom everyday. I have loved every bit of it. It has been a huge learning experience. My classroom is adorable and I love talking to each of them every day. Kids are so honest and so cute. They know how to make me feel great!

I needed a break from Provo and St. George was calling my name, so a couple friends and I escaped and took a road trip to Amie's house. The weekend was incredible!! We went to the sand dunes, In-n-Out, shopping, and relaxed. It was exactly what I needed!! We all were really reluctant to go back to Provo after such a great weekend.

The Banana Game

After watching the Jazz game one night Parker said he had an awesome game he wanted us to play. It was called the banana game. The point of the game: Who can eat a banana the fastest. Can't be that hard right? Little did we know that Parker had played this game on his mission and he was now professional. Take a look at this video and you will understand what I'm talking about... I think he might be a monkey.

Frozen Hot Chocolates

Nicole drove down to Provo to hang out, and I had to take her to go get one of the BEST treats ever made...FROZEN HOT CHOCOLATES and they were only 99 cents... what a deal!
Before we went to Dairy Queen, we went bargain shopping and this is what we found. We almost bought them just for fun, but I couldn't get myself to spend money on a shirt I probably would never wear. But we had fun trying them on!

The Stress Dance: A Cure for Anyone and Anything

This past week has been a very stressful week... and I normally don't get stressed very easily. I had a research paper that I just kept putting off. I finally decided to do it one night and stayed at the library for 8 HOURS!! I thought I was going to be done in about 2 hours, but it took way longer than expected and even after 8 hours I was only half way done. That night I went home and was just happy to be home. Cute Tiffany came around the corner with her hair on top of her head and said, "Just put your hair on top of your head! It makes all the stress go out of your head." I was willing to try anything, so we both had our hair on top of our head for a while, letting the stress flow out. I can tell you, that it worked! Then after a while, Tiff came up with this stress dance that I recommend to anyone. If you are stressed for any reason, just try this dance. You'll feel much better!

Temple Square with the roommates!

On Saturday November 8, the roommates and I got to go downtown and see the premier of the Gordon B. Hinckley movie. ALL 6 of us were there!! I love bundling up, going down town, and enjoying temple square! The movie was incredible and everyone should see it!! It was very touching and a great way to learn about President Gordon B. Hinckley and all the wonderful things he did in his life.

I just love Halloween!! I wasn't going to dress up, but how can you not dress up on Halloween? My good friend Rachel gave me the idea of being a cat! I'm not a fan of cats, but it sounded like a great idea! So here we are as kitty cats!

Here is Angie as Alice in Wonderland. So cute! Then we have Darrin on the right as a ninja. Look at those muscles!

Of course we had to go around and see what everyone else was dressing up as, so here is a picture of our FHE family in their lovely apparel!

That night we went to the Haunted Forest. What a perfect activity for Halloween! I have to admit... i'm a lil' baby when it comes to being scared, but it was still SO fun! The workers kept saying "come here kitty cat!" Talk about FREAKY! Don't worry though, we were protected by a lady bug and a teenage mutant ninja turtle. Doesn't get any better than that.

On Saturday night a group of us got together at Draper Park to hang out with .... STEVIE!! Stevie is now home from his mission! It was good to be with some of the high school clan and have a good time and lots of laughter! Later that night we played the flour game. Can you tell who lost??

Man, we are awesome.

Mom's 50th Birthday

On Thursday October 23 we went out to eat for my mom's birthday. It was lots of fun! The whole object of going out to eat was to make her think that was her birthday get together... little did she know IT WASN'T! We had a whole days worth of things for her to do on Saturday.

My dad woke her up by giving her a clue which was breakfast. The whole day was a bunch of clues and activities for her to do. At one point in the day my dad took her to the place that he asked her to marry him. Isn't that cute?! Here they are all cute 28 years later. (i think)

Later that day she came home to find Jenni, David, Emily, and I posed to perform a medley from Annie Aloud. (a singing/dancing group all the kids were in when we were younger) Her reaction to this part of the day was priceless. We danced and sang our little hearts out.

Next was a photo shoot with the nieces and nephew. Of course we had to sneak in and take a picture with the girls!

After the photo shoot was dinner and back home for the SURPRISE party! And believe it or not, it did end up being a surprise. We watched a movie of her growing up and then ate food with friends and family. I love my mom so much! She has had such a huge impact on my life and so many others. I am grateful for her and the example she is for me. Maybe one day i'll get to be the amazing mother and gammie she is! Thanks mom! I love you!

A SIRIously fun weekend!

Siri turned 21 on Thursday October 16. We decided to attempt and throw a surprise party for her, and IT WORKED! It turned out so well thanks to the help of apartment 6 who decorated the apartment while we were all gone.

It was great to have a lot of friends from college and high school there! Parker and Alex, who just returned from their missions were able to come. It was so great to see them! It was a reunion of good friends and good times!

On Saturday of that week we all went to Siri's house for a fun party!! It was so much fun being with everyone and catching up. Lots of yummy food of course, thanks to the marvelous Mama Stone who we all love so much. Everyone argues over who Mama Stone's favorite friend is... but we all know its me! : )

On Sunday Siri gave a WONDERFUL talk in church. Her talk was on testimony and it was absolutely perfect! She sang "How Great Thou Art" at the end of her talk to bare her testimony. Chantelle played the piano (wonderfully) and my mom was nice enough to write a violin part to go with it. It was great to be able to be a part of her talk!!

Seems like this weekend has been Siri weekend!! So many fun memories and lots of catching up with friends!!
